Twilight...

Stephenie Meyer's BEST-SELLING book

"TWILIGHT"

I have heard tons of good suggestions about what book attracts a large mass of audiences and gain popularity because of its good storyline. One of them is Stephenie Meyer's best-selling book, Twilight. Since we are still dealing with the pandemic, I find reading a very good habit. However, I prefer reading and holding a physical book peacefully at home but I couldn't find a copy of this book in our place. Thankfully, there are copies available online without having to pay them.

"Twilight" actually has 5 series, and this one I've read was the first book. I have already heard good reviews about this a few years ago but I just got to read book one just this month. I also heard that it has film adaptations, although I haven't watched any of it yet, I suppose this was really a good one, so I choose this to read, and turns out not disappointing me.

The story is about Isabella (Bella) Swan, who moved to his father's place after her mother got remarried. And then, at her new school, she met Edward Cullen, who has an inhumane beauty and later on she founds out that he is immortal, a vampire.  Bella falls in love with Edward, and in spite of being far different from each other, she accepts their situation as she enters a dangerous romance with an immortal man.

Usually, when I read, I cannot finish a book within a short period of time especially when the language used is unfamiliar to me. And I'm in fact a slow reader. In this book, the language used by the author is plainer, closer to everyday spoken language, which I think one of the reasons why readers made this book be categorized as popular. The language used is easy to understand by almost everyone who would love to read kind of story as their escape, entertainment, and past-time to relax.

While reading, the author brings me to another level of imagination. Right from the beginning, I really liked how the author wrote the story's characters, plot, and astonishing scenes. Although I'm not really fond of Vampire stories, Stephenie Meyer brings us to another world. It made me feel like I'm in another place and get a chance to met beautiful new characters just by reading this successful piece.

Yes, it is fictitious, but it also implies a lot of real-life lessons. Let me share the lessons I've got from reading this successful book of Stephenie Meyer...

First, WE MAY CHOOSE TO DEFY OUR EXPECTATIONS. In the story, Cullens are vampires, they crave human blood, so in order to drink human blood, they have to kill humans. But, they don't like to be meaningless killers and so they don't want to be. Therefore they choose an animal blood diet that satisfies them less and choose to live in a hidden manner. Just because we are expected to be something, doesn't mean we have to be that way. Meaning, we cannot always rely on our expectations, we can choose to resists those expectations we've made and live our lives however we want.

Second, NOT EVERYTHING WE WITNESS AROUND US IS TRUE. Sometimes, we have to be in another people's situation in order to understand them well and know the real truth. In the story, Bella is just a normal human being, but when she became a vampire, she finally gets to see the real beauty and chaos of life.

Third, IN THE NAME OF LOVE, WE CAN DO ANYTHING. In the name of love, we can surrender everything, whatever it takes. Just like what Bella did, in order to stay with her loved one, Edward. However, we should be careful in choosing who to love.

Therefore, with everything that I have stated above, I find this book a real-deserving piece to be categorized as 'popular fiction'. People who love popular literature should never miss a chance to read this.
Upon reading this, I find out why many people talk about this even if it was published years ago. A real success, isn't it? I hope we would still get a lot of chances to read excellent written work as this.
